Devoid of Faith - Continued

Sir James Hawk woke up suddenly to the jerking of his house. Pictures were falling off the walls and a vase crashed to the ground, shattering into several pieces. The shaking stopped and he ran his hand through his short red hair." Stupid Earthquakes," he said as he got out of his bed. He walked over to his desk where a new letter was waiting for him. He sat down on his large chair opening the desk's drawer. He took out a golden letter opener with a diamond on the bottom.
He opened the letter and took out the note. He placed the letter opener back in the drawer and put on his glasses. He looked down at the letter.
"Hawk," he started. "Come quickly, blah, blah, blah..." He put down the letter.
"Spike, Mystica needs us again," he yelled. A small green dragon with gold spikes flew into the room. He landed on Hawk's shoulder as Hawk got up. He walked over to a large wall to the right side of his bed. Hawk didn't scare easily, however, he was filled with apprehension after reading Mystica's letter. He had fought hoards of the falcon men known as Raven and had taken out dragons without being scared. But Mystica's tone had really gotten to him. She was usually neat when she wrote him letter and she always signed her name. She only used her Rune when she was being secretive. He pulled a candle and the wall in front of him lifted up. Inside was a complete set of black and gold armor. He pulled out a small, doll sized set of armor and gave to his little dragon. He put it in his mouth and flew to the bed that Hawk had just vacated. Hawk pulled out his armor and placed it on the bed.
"Hawk, where are you going?" asked a young girl in the doorway. He looked up at a red head with snow, white skin. She was dressed in a white skirt with small shoes.
"Mystica needs me, I am going to help her," he answered. He put on his breastplate and took out his long silver sword. She lowered her head fearing that Hawk would get hurt. He finished putting on his armor as he attached the sword to his suit. He walked up to the girl as she looked up.
"Don't worry, I will be back." he assured her. He walked out the door with Spike following him. The small dragon was covered with gold armor, which shone in the sun. As they were heading down the stairs the young girl ran down the stairs.
"I coming with you," she said. Hawk turned around and look into her face. He could tell from her expression that she was coming no matter what he said.
"It is going to be very dangerous," he said.
"I don't care, even you need help sometimes," she said. He gave her a wide smile. He walked over to a wall and pulled another candle and the wall went up. Inside was white armor, which looked very much like his. It was smaller in size and the breastplate was built for a girl. He took it out of the wall, breaking its long sleep, and gave it to the girl.
"I was going to give you this later, when you were older, but I think you should have it now," said Hawk. She jumped up and hugged him, grabbing the armor and running into her room. While she was gone, Hawk walked into the closet and took out a box. It was about three feet long and a foot wide. He opened it and then shut it as the girl walked out of her room.
"How does it look?" she asked. Her voice was messed up; the face piece of the helmet was still down. Hawk walked up to her and lifted up the face piece looking into her blue eyes.
"It looks fine Rinoa, but now you need a sword," he said. He walked up to the box and reopened it. He took out a 3-foot long sword. Its handle was made out of two white wings and a gold handle. He put the tip over his left arm and gave it to her. She picked it up and smiled, her face lighting up with happiness.
"Now lets go, Mystica needs us at her house," said Hawk. She put her sword in its scabbard as the three companions walked out into the front yard. Hawk took out a large key and locked the door to his large house. Spike flew out in front of the two, landing on the soft, green grass.
"We need a ride, Spike," said Hawk. The small, green flying iguana started to roar. It started to grow, its wings and body getting larger. His roar got louder causing Rinoa to cover her ears.
"I am Spike, the Green Dragon of Mylar," he yelled as he looked down to Hawk. Hawk was shaking his head as he and Rinoa walked up his tail and onto his back.
"Hang on Rinoa, this is going to be a bumpy ride," he warned. They both grabbed onto one of Spike's golden spikes as he flapped his wings. The trees and grass around the house started to wave wildly as Spike lifted into the air.
"To Lyman, Spike." he ordered. The Dragon roared once again as he flew away, heading for the town of Lyman.
